Cross Country Places 2 in Top 10

Coach Gaulin took the cross country squad across the border to compete against a spectacular field of NCAA opponents today in the Castleton Invitational Meet. The runners more than held their own as they battled for respect with the likes of Castleton University, New England College, Union College, Albany College, Southern Vermont, SUNY Canton, Green Mountain, Massachusetts Liberal Arts, St. Joseph's and Paul Smith's. Although we didn't qualify for a team score as we traveled with 3 runners for each the men's and women's teams, they were very competitive when comparing the top 3 runners from each of the other opponents. The women's team out performed Paul Smith's and Massachusetts Liberal Arts on individual basises while Sherri Metcalfe continued her hot start finishing 4th overall.

The men's program also flexed its muscle as Brian Halligan cracked the top 10 with a time of 29:08. Jevon Baker began his intercollegiate career with a time of 39:27 and Patrick Linehan got back on track after being a DNF in his last race coming in at 40:44.

The cross country program next competes on the 23rd at SUNY Polytechnic.
