Bio

Leon Lopez enters his second season as the head coach of the Adirondack Men's Soccer program after leading the Timberwolves to significant progress during his inaugural 2025 season.

In his first year at the helm, Lopez guided Adirondack to a 5-9-1 overall record, highlighted by four Region III victories and a Region III playoff berth. Under his leadership, the program continued to build a competitive culture, and Adrian Lunde earned Mountain Valley All-Conference honors.

Lopez brings a strong blend of collegiate coaching and playing experience to Adirondack. Prior to joining the Timberwolves, he served as an assistant coach at Lesley University during the 2024 season, contributing to the program's development and success.

Before his time at Lesley, Lopez spent three seasons as an assistant coach at Nichols College (2021–2024), where he played an integral role in recruiting, player development, training sessions, and tactical preparation. During this time, he also expanded his coaching experience at the club level.

Since 2021, Lopez has served as the U18 Head Coach for IFA West Soccer Club, where he has helped develop numerous student-athletes who have gone on to compete at the collegiate level, demonstrating his commitment to player development both on and off the field.

As a player, Lopez was a two-time NJCAA All-American at Herkimer College, one of the nation's premier junior college soccer programs. He continued his collegiate career at SUNY Oneonta before finishing at American International College.

Lopez earned an Associate of Science degree from Herkimer College and a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from American International College. He is also pursuing a Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership from Nichols College.

With a proven background as both a high-level player and coach, Lopez continues to bring leadership, passion, and a player-first approach to the Adirondack Men's Soccer program as he looks to build on the foundation established during his first season.
